Here We Go Again

We're heading to Taiwan for Spring Break 2026!

Tim booked this trip back in January and excitement has been steadily mounting. We leave Friday. The kids and Tim started packing tonight (Wednesday). I did not. (Hey, blog duty calls. So do emails.)

Wyatt is notorious for packing light. In fact, he prides himself on it.

Let me take you inside our exchange from earlier this evening, so you understand how this works.

Setting: Wyatt's Room

Wyatt: "Mom, let me show you what I packed." 

Me: "Let's do it! Show me what you got."

Wyatt: "I have two pairs of pants, my button-down shirt, my flannel shirt, three t-shirts, two shorts, three pairs of socks, three pairs of underwear, and my sandals."

Me: "Okaaaaaaaay. How about packing at least one more pair of underwear and socks?"

Wyatt: "Why? I don't need to."

Me: "I think it would be a good idea. We're going to be traveling for 10 days."

Wyatt: "But why? I'll also have the clothes I'm wearing on the plane."

Me: "Yes, but it's going to be really hot over there. We'll be moving around a lot, walking around a lot, doing different things. I just think an extra pair of socks and underwear would be good. And you have tons of room left in your bag."

Wyatt: "But why? I don't need to. I'm wearing the extra underwear and socks on the plane."

Me: "I give up."

Wyatt (as I'm walking out of his room): "And I'm going to pack for you!"

Taipei -- and the rest of our island adventure -- awaits. With or without extra underwear.
